Knights of Columbus, Council 1244 Receives Hurricane Katrina Relief Truckload From Florida's St Cloud - Kissimmee Council 6624
The St Cloud - Kissimmee Council 6624 remembered the kindness Council 1244 sent after Hurricane Charley hit the Florida Council in 2004 and reciprocated with a larger and better truckload of goods for the needy of the Mississippi Gulf Coast on October 26, 2005. Although the truck arrived later than anticipated due to debris and rocks being caught between the tandem tires, the K. C. group came with good cheer and helpful hands unloading the truck within an hour of arrival. The nine helpers from Biloxi Council 1244 and Sister Rebecca Rutkowski, OSF assisted with the unloading. After the unloading, Council 1244 members treated all to a well deserved meal and a blessing for the St Cloud - Kissimmee group as they made their way back to their home in Florida. May God Bless the people of St Cloud - Kissimmee for their generosity, kindness and love.
Thomas P. Easter, Deputy Grand Knight Fr. Anthony Arguelles, Chaplain

Hey fellas...There's enough toys to go around!!! Don't push!

"Billy, isn't this the same banner we took to them last year?"  "I thought   there was something familiar about it Tom"

Ricardo Ronsonet, Chancellor
Danny Kavanagh, Outside Guard
Sonny Ross helps Billy Gollott while under the supervision of Billy's wife, Gwen. Well, someone has to do it!
Terry Janca helps himself with the engine oil..."No wait Terry, that has to go back with the truck."
John "Pat" Skrmetti, Recorder
Jerry Atkinson takes ... a break just for a few seconds while Sonny Ross looks on.
While Mark Gervia, Florida State Youth Activities Director (l) and Walter Roshetski, Council 6624 member decide what next to offload, Billy and Jerry play tug-o-war!

Brother Jerry Atkinson...does he ever run down? Is he like the rabbit that keeps going and going and going?
Meanwhile back in the de I'Epee Deaf Center which Greg Crapo most graciously arranged to store the goods for us...the worker bees are busy at it!
William Septine
"As I am Trustee Jose L. De La Garza, I command you boxes to move by yourself! Hmmm it works in Florida!"
Bill Rodwell and Chuck Tomasello assist the effort.  Hmmm, it's that mysterious dolly that wouldn't unfold...but it's unfolded now!!! Sister Rebecca wants to know how many Knights does it take to open a fold-up dolly???
John Higginbothim, Inside Guard
Richard Pinette, Outside Guard
Believe it or not...this was the last dolly load and those Floridians were still moving to fast for the camera...I believe V.J Simonelli is on the left and Trustee Jose L. De La Garza on the right from Council 6624.  I think it's Bill Rodwell in the middle.
Brother Tom Easter (The Elder) gives the helpers a pep talk...with Sisters permission!
L.C. "Billy" Gollott, Grand Knight Gerald Rose, Trustee, 2nd Year
This is some of the load removed from the truck. More filled another room.
So...this is the culprit that caused the delay in arrival. The concrete rocks were lodged between the two tires and caused a terrible ride, not to mention, it could have been dangerous to the riders, truck and it's precious contents!
Richard Benton, Trustee, 3rd Year
Art Dunn, District Deputy
These are the brave hearts that weathered the hazardous ride from Kissimmee, Florida, (left to right) V.J. Simonelli, Trustee Jose L. De La Garza, Beatrice "Bea" Gervia, Mark Gervia and Walter Roshetski
The Council 6624's Banner proudly stands amidst the gifts!

After a long day,  very warm fuzzys were allayed to the five road warriors from Kissimmee, Florida during dinner. Thank you one and all from the bottom of all of our hearts...You have touched each and every one of us through your warmth and kindness in ways you will never know!
